I was born and raised in Puerto Rico. In 1985, I moved to Chicago, Illinois, where I remained until I moved to Hastings two years ago. I have always been called to serve: my family, my church, and my community. My moral compass and my sense of justice and compassion are always the biggest factors in my decision-making process. I always seek community and consensus in making decisions that affect others. We need community.  We need dialogue, we need to identify situations which affect us all and present possible solutions.

I have come to know and love the Hastings community, and I have been made aware of some of the issues which affect this beautiful town.

Why am I running for City Council membership? Why not? We all have the responsibility to serve. Why not me? If I get the opportunity to be a council member, I will work tirelessly to make this town a more inclusive place and I will contribute to the education and clarity of issues that affect us all. I will listen to the community and work with them to create spaces of learning and healing.
